The music is certainly a huge component of the enjoyment of any dance. A DJ adjusts the music on the fly. They do not just put a play list together. They observe the crowd and see what gets folks on the dance floor.
It’s a skill that people have to develop. Developing any skill takes willingness to try to improve. A DJ can use their eyes and feelings and be self critical.
